thoughts on failing...
in fairly ironic fashion, i accidentally posted this before it was ready. here it is, in full.
There is something to be said about the way fear chafes against freedom. Creativity, for me, at least, requires me to go with a feeling, a thought, or idea that is as yet untested (by me). To surrender myself to not knowing.
Opening the window to freedom means (also) opening the window to doubt.
A question for you this week: what your life has felt the most like failure? How might you respond creatively to this feeling, and perhaps externalise/create an outlet for it?
If you have any questions, especially about the creative process, please send me a message. I will endeavour to write back (and may share an illustrate response in an upcoming Substack!)
i love this! thank you for sharing, eloise 💗 so true that the fear of failing is often scarier than the failure itself.
